Our story

Sakurado means ‘House of the Cherry Blossoms’. For Mei, Sakurado’s founder, the name evokes memories of Hanami, the custom of observing the blossoms during the brief period of their existence each year. Such Sakura trees lined the river near the place Mei lived in Tokyo. Mei studied and worked in Japan for many years and speaks the language fluently. She established Sakurado in 2017, and the finely crafted foods sold there are inspired by the style of food and flavours found in modern day Japan.
